Jainism is one of the oldest Indian religions of the world. It is not known exactly when it was founded. Jain theology states that Jainism has existed since eternity and it has no beginning and no end. Any soul which has conquered its own inner enemies attachments and aversions and achieved the state of supreme being is called jina (Conqueror or Victor). Jainism is also referred to as Shraman (self-reliant) Dharma or the religion of Nirgantha (who does not have attachments and aversions) The followers of Jina are called Jains. A true Jain is, thus the follower of him who is above bias, a true friend of all and foe of non.
